As mentioned I would strongly recommend that you resolve the problem on your system with not being able to enable permissions on volumes.

Provided this permissions problem is the only issue you may consider disabling local system checks with the following command in your LBackup configuration file : 

check_local_system="NO" 

Keep in mind that this will mean a variety of important checks will not be performed. This means that the backups will be less reliable and certain rsync options may not be enabled. If you decide to add this command to your configuration file, then you should carefully check that information you need preserved in your backup is being preserved.

Finally, the backup will then need to be run as the user who owns all the files. If this is not the case then hard linking will not work. The backup will still finish. However, more storage space will be consumed for any file that is not owned by the user running the backup. This is because the files will not appear the same and therefore hard linking will not take place.
