[lbackup-discussion] Backing Up Files on Two Hard Drives with LBackup

Hi all,

I have a somewhat difficult question. I am attempting to backup two physically separate hard drives, in the same server, using LBackup. I really only need a small handful of folders in each, so I started off doing a backup of "/Volumes/Data" as the backup source and then using the Excludes files to 'include' the "/Data-Folders" that are located on the boot drive. That didn't work, opting to only backup the files that were on the Data volume. So I changed it so the backup source was simply "/" and then used the reverse includes method to include the files I wanted from the boot drive and include "/Volumes/Data" while excluding everything else. That backed up the files on the boot drive but not those on the Data drive. I then proceeded to manually specify each folder I wanted backed up on the data drive, but no change.

I suspect the problem is around the fact that technically /Volumes/Data is actually a symlink and Rsync (lbackup) won't follow symlinks.

Does anyone have some ideas, short of creating two separate backup jobs, to backup all the files from both drives?

Regards,

Michael
